2/15/2009 Elba Mar Boat Club Make certain to plan Sunday afternoon February 15th, for the annual Past Commodore’s Valentine’s Day Brunch.  It will start at 11:30 am with food service and the free Champaign will start to flow at noon sharp!  Not only will that significant someone be lavished with good food and Champaign, but you’re going to be pleased with the value that the event turns out to be. Here is the info for the rooms at the LaQuinta (near Metro Airport) for the Party:                                                                                                                         1) Rooms must be reserved by Thursday 10-15-09.  The reservation will be for “Yacht Club”.                                                                                                       2) The room rate will be $55 (1/2 the normal price) plus whatever taxes apply.                                                                                                                         3) There will be 2 shuttles available (times TBD).

 Those people needing a bone marrow transplant and not having a good match from within their family must search through a list of only 12 million donors registered out of our nation's nearly 300 million population.  Hopefully December 20 will make a small dent improving those odds of finding a match. 
'Be The Match' will be simultaneously conducting a Bone Marrow Registry, December 20 from noon until 6:00PM at Grosse Ile Yacht Club 29677 E. River Rd.  Grosse Ile, MI (734)-676-0211 and Monroe Boat Club  7932 N. Harbor Drive,  Monroe, MI (734)-243-8935.  If you are between the ages of 18 and 60, you may register and have a cheek swab which takes about 10 minutes.  The procedure is painless and free; cash donations are welcome.
